Set high above the northern coastline, Saint Alexander stands apart from many of Skiathos’ traditional chapels with its distinctive whitewashed, Cycladic-style design. Its remote setting and simple architecture give the place a peaceful, almost secluded character.
The chapel can be reached along the island’s Faith & Antiquities Route 8A, which connects Pyrgi with Saint Alexander and Agios Sozon. From this part of the trail, visitors are rewarded with impressive views towards the northern coast of Skiathos and Mount Pelion.
ONE SKIATHOS EDITOR’S NOTE
We recommend Saint Alexander for the journey as much as the destination. Its peaceful setting, unusual architecture and expansive views make it one of the island’s most memorable little chapels.
LOCATION
A peaceful white chapel, beautifully positioned above the northern coast of Skiathos with sweeping views across the Aegean and towards Mount Pelion.
